TREXposé ….
Helping Travelers Find Unique Experiences Across the Globe

I fell in love with travel as a high school exchange student to Venezuela. The country was still a democracy and welcomed Americans then.

Later I took a gap year to live, work, and travel in South America. It set the stage for a major in International Relations at Georgetown University.

After leaving a government job to become an educator, I vowed to use my summers off to visit a new country every year. It’s a pledge I’ve kept for nearly two decades.

Along the way, I visited dozens of countries spanning five continents. I traveled solo, led student tours overseas, and became a repetitive home exchanger.

As a history buff and amateur photographer, I’m drawn to many of the “must-see” sites that appeal to most travelers.

But I’m an even bigger fan of what I call “explorative travel”. Taking time to wander without an agenda or time constraints, away from the crowds, on the lookout for less common experiences— and the hidden stories of people who were there before me.

I believe that’s what makes a trip truly unique and especially memorable. With this blog I hope to inspire more readers to travel and help them discover their own extraordinary moments on the road.

Let’s get started!

Curious to see how it’s going? Check out these surprises from my first year of blogging.
