The Start of a New Journey

Over 59,400 readers in 171 countries have joined me on TREXposé since I launched the travel blog nearly three years ago. Along the way, it was a pleasure and a privilege to shine a light on many lesser known but worthwhile sites and stories from around the globe. The blog’s 86 articles were viewed collectively more than 72,500 times. I’d like to think they informed, entertained, and connected us.

If you’re curious, these five posts received the most views:

·      The WW2 Diary of Private Donald Blackey – Inside Hitler’s Bunker

·      The Eagle’s Nest in Germany: A Chilling Side Trip from Salzburg

·      Get Free Admission to All US National Parks and More

·      Tour a Nuclear Missile Silo

·      Uncovering the History of Stolpersteine Across Europe

It takes a lot of time and money, though, to maintain a travel blog. And sadly, artificial intelligence now poaches the content and delivers it without the reader ever seeing firsthand the blogger’s hard work. So I’m shifting my focus.

Sometime in August 2026, I will convert trexpose.com to a static website. That means existing content will be preserved for future reference, but all further updates, comments, emails, and other “live” content will cease.

Instead, I hope to build on the success of my first international thriller, Born of Bombs and Bullets, as a full-time novelist. The sequel, The Coded Crucifix, will be published in autumn 2026, with at least 3-4 more titles envisioned in the series. It’s probably no surprise that each book is set in a different country and exposes readers to the chosen locale’s unique history and culture through a fictional tale and cast of characters. My author website at daviddummer.com will eventually host a small-scale blog with bonus content about each featured country. I’d be glad to see you there!

Thanks for accompanying me on the journey thus far. I wish you all the best and hope our paths will cross again.

– Dave
